Peanut Butter Eggs

I was out with a friend the other day while making my annual Reese’s Peanut Butter Egg spring purchase, when she happen to bring up a point about the peanut butter and chocolate candies I hadn’t realized before. Why is it that they always seem to taste better in every other shape and form other than their original incarnation?

reesesegg-smThere are Reese’s Peanut Better Eggs, Trees, Hearts,  & Pumpkins – all of which I find infinitely better than the original Cup. But the recipe is supposedly the same. So what is it then? What do you think?
